Business Trip to Lund

This week I have been on a business trip to our Lund office. I arrived on Monday night and went to the office on Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday night I joined some work colleagues from Lund for dinner at Gloria in Lund. It was fun to catch up with them.

Wednesday night I had dinner at Andreas home with his family Stina, Emil and Simon. It was yummy pasta on the menu. Again a lot if catch up and fun.

Today I will move from Lund to our Beijing office. Instead of waiting in Malmö before going to the airport for my 9pm flight I went to Copenhagen. Well, after a short stop at the airport to check in my bag.

In Copenhagen I did as a billion other people did… Walked along Ströget down to Nyhavn.

Most people seemed to stop at Nyhavn but I continues walking all the way to the Lille Havefrun. This time she was not on a business trip (last time she was in Shanghai for the World Exhibition).

On my way back from the Lille Havefrun I stopped at Andersen Bakery, just opposite the Copenhagen Central Station, for a late lunch. I had an Andersen Platte with typical Danish smörrebröd. It was delicious and I am still full.

Right now I am bone tired, waiting at the airport for my flight to depart. Hopefully I can sleep some on the flight and wake up in Beijing.

Business Trip to Sweden

This week I spent flying between Sweden and Japan. I also had time to some meetings at our Lund office, but it felt like a mostly traveled between time zones.

But I had time to meet some friends in the evenings for dinner. Josef and his family on Wednesday night, finished with a walk along the sea back to the hotel. Calle and his family on Thursday night, finished with a drive by Slatan’s house in Malmö.

Mother & Robert

Was at the office in Lund already at 8 am. Did not have time for almost anything else but meetings today. I had a plan to leave early after my last meeting at 1 pm. But I met some old friends from Tokyo that have returned to Sweden, and an important contact for one of the projects that my group is involved in.

I was 1.5 hours late when I got on the 169 bus from Lund to Malmö. It took 30 minutes or so until we landed at the Concert Hall in Malmö, just 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

Once I met with my mother and my brother Robert we went out for a very late lunch. And some window shopping.

We also had a walk in KungsträdgÃ¥rden (a garden) because my mother wanted to see the Japanese garden. It was… Bamboo and rocks. I don’t really know what was so Japanese about it but a sign said that the intention was that the rocks symbolized water, which is important in Japanese culture. Well, it is a land of islands so water may be important, but what has it to do with being Japanese?

I am probably too stupid to understand the point with the Japanese garden having something to do with Japan (now I want comments saying “NO, NO, NO, you are not too stupid”).

In the evening we had dinner at the hotel and then Robert and I went to the gym in the basement. Did a light workout and spent some time in the sauna.

LÃ¥nga Bryggan

After a long day’s meeting the whole group went to LÃ¥nga Bryggan for dinner. LÃ¥nga Bryggan means long jetty in Swedish and that was what it was. A 500 m long jetty, and then a platform with a house on it.

The food was quite good and we had a beautiful view of the Öresundsbron (the bridge between Sweden and Denmark). After the dinner we had all had a sauna and took a swim in the ocean in the full moon light. Very nice… But somewhat cold 🙂

Lemongrass

I am on a business trip to Lund. Actually I am staying at Clarion hotel in Malmö, but Sony Ericsson is located in Lund.

Yesterday was my first day ever in the Lund office. I got a Lund ID card and spent most of the time in meetings. At 5 pm when the last meeting was over I was one of the few left in the building :-O

Josef gave me a ride back to Malmö. The he suggested to have dinner with his fiance so we went home to their place. Then had an hours long walk along the harbor area and the Turning Torso. Our destination was the Mai Thai restaurant but it was closed.

Next stop was a Vietnamese restaurant, but it was also closed on Mondays. So we ended up at Lemongrass. An Asian fusion type of restaurant. The food was quite good and I enjoyed the company a lot. It was fun to meet Josef again and to finally meet his fiance.
