Tea Ceremony and Yasaka

Just before 1 pm I arrived at Mina-sensei for this month’s tea ceremony. Ueno-san was already there and I just got in time to try out her koicha (thick tea). The rest dropped in at 1 pm and then at 2 pm. Once I’d done my koicha I acted a “smart ass” by correcting anyone that did a mistake 😉

4.5 hours later (all the time in seisa – sitting with folded knees) we were done and I limped home. Actually I limped to the train, then to the bus and then to Yasaka for dinner before I limped home. But why be picky about details now that the tea ceremony is over?

Dinner at Ex-Kan Manager’s Restaurant

First tea ceremony since the earthquake in March 11. It went quite well considering the long time without any practice. I also got my first two levels of tea master certificates.

Afterwards I met Chie in Shibuya to have dinner. We went to the restaurant of the ex-manager of Kan, a restaurant in Naka-Meguro. We got served fish bones… But where was the fish???

The deep fried fish bones (from anchovy) was delicious. Crispy, a bit salty and yummy. The food was very good, but the restaurant was full so we had to wait quite a while for the dishes. When we had finished we took a taxi home.

I’m an Official Sensei

I got an email today from the tea ceremony master (sensei) with a note that my application to become a second level (out of 10) tea ceremony master.

So from now I can officially take on students, leave a note here if you want to become one 😉

Tea Ceremony

I went to my monthly tea ceremony class today. It was as fun and relaxing as usual.

Afterwards we all went out for a year-end dinner. Chie joined us as well. It was fun and good food.

Tea Ceremony, Ultraman & Green Cola

Saturday and time for this month’s tea ceremony. My tea master is living in an area where the creator of Ultraman was living. I am not sure if it was at the time of creating Ultraman or not.

Anyway, the station has banners of Ultraman everywhere. And Ultraman himself is standing guard outside, when he is not fighting monsters that is 😉

Chie, drove me there for two reasons. It’s “almost” on the way to Tokorozawa where she was going. And she was helping me buying Asahi Green Cola, a cola that is environmental friendly. And also are made of natural ingredients, free from caffein, preservatives and colorants.
