Yesterday the whole of Japan was declared “state of emergency” and Elysium (my employer) decided to go mandatory remote work (we had a trial on Thursday and it went well enough). So, today, I set up my home office with a “standing desk” – one learning from Thursday’s trial was that sitting at the kitchen table was not a good option if I wanted my shoulders to stay healthy.
By the way, coincidently, the random web page I put on the browser turned out to have a relevant and important message in these times of fake news – “journalism is more important than ever”. Critically look at everything you read and the sources. Consider the reason why it was written; including underlying motives, positioning, view points, etc. Aim to understand over accepting/rejecting the message (use your empathy to “connect” with the author(s) and to understand).
