Breakfast at Tiffan… Chie’s

Supposed to go to the beach today but Chie did not feel well. So we stayed at home all day long doing nothing but relaxing, which was great. Except I had to cook breakfast 🙁 But I made it quite OK, miso-shiro, onegiri, mozuku and pickled vegetables 😛

Breakfast

Ginger Ale

I have planned for a long time to make my own Ginger Ale. Why? Because I like Ginger Ale and I think it would taste better doing it yourself. Also, you do not add any chemicals at all.

Soon-to-be Ginger Ale Ginger Ale in the make

So cutting ginger in small pieces, cutting red pepper, add cinnamon sticks and clove, and finally top of with honey and water. Boil. Let it cool. Top with some lemon. Tada! Ginger Ale essence. Just add Club Soda and enjoy 😛

Chinese Dinner at Home

The whole day today Chie prepared for the dinner. I help when I could. But mainly I just looked cute. Chinese food usually needs a lot of preparation. And then it is cooked in a few minutes only. And eating in less 🙁

Chinese dinner

In the evening Jimmy, Emma and Mina-sensei came for dinner. We had so many different dishes. Dumplings. Minced meat with salad. Spare ribs. And many more. For desert Mina-sensei had brought eggs with chocolate mouse and some other mouse inside. And we ate until we could not eat any more.

Shabu-shabu at Home

Friday night. I could leave the office at 6:30 pm because the teleconference meeting with Sweden was cancelled. I hurried home and bought beer and coke but forgot to buy Ume-chu (plum wine). Chie was really angry 😉

We were having Jimmy and Emma visiting for dinner, Shabu-shabu (hot pot were meat and vegetables are cooked in bullion). The Ume-chu was for Emma. So I went to the 7-Eleven store and bough a bottle. And both Chie and Emma was happy 🙂

We had dinner for 2-3 hours. Dipping, eating, talking, enjoying. Afterwards we were totally full.

Still, after just a few minutes resting we could find some more space for strawberries and ice cream. And then we had to break up and get Jimmy and Emma to the station to catch one of the last trains. Time flies when you are having fun.

Visiting Coco in Tokorozawa

Arriving a little bit late in Tokorozawa due to us waiting for Yoshiki-san to finish a business meeting. In Tokorozawa I had tea and okashi as usual. Yummy.

In the evening we had shabu-shabu for dinner. Thin sliced meat and vegetables that we cooked in a bullion on gas stove at the table. Of course we can do something similar in Sweden but I doubt that we can find meat of the right quality.
