Cable to Fukushima #1

It seems the electric power cable has been restored so that Fukushima #1 now have the power back. Hopefully this will result in cooling systems and pumps to get back up and running. If it wasn’t for the fact that I am typing I would cross my fingers 😉

Gym Again

First time Chie and I have had time to go to the gym in a week. Because of the blackouts and the irregularity in the train schedules the gym has closed early this week, already at 6 pm.

It was a good feeling to be back. They did not have any studio classes but instead they used that space, or rather small part of that space, for two table tennis tables. Chie and I played for about 15 minutes. It was the first time in I don’t know how many years. It was great fun… Even tough Chie won 🙂

After gym we stopped by the Tokyu Store and then a Chinese restaurant for lunch. Yummy!

Hope

One of my favorite Japanese authors is Ryu Murakami who has written books like Norwegian Wood and In the miso soup. He was at a hotel in Shinjuku when the big earthquake occurred. You can read his thoughts about the events and hope here.

Yasaka with Hirata-san

Chie and I had planned to have a quiet dinner at home, but Hirata-san called her and asked us to come to Yasaka. Not only because we are such a lovely company but also because his wife was out with some friends, and this because were they live they had a blackout this evening.

Yasaka had been quite empty the whole week, and the owner had got a lot of cancellations. But tonight it was full. And it looked like business as usual.

Probably the only exception from a normal dinner at Yasaka was that we were watching TV news on Chie’s cell phone.
