Yasaka with Work Colleagues & Friends

Once my meeting had finished at 7 pm I left the office. I met up with Martin Dremo (work colleague from Lund) in the Shinagawa station. Together we went to Yasaka for dinner.

At first it was only Martin and me, then Andreas (work colleague here in Japan) and Jonas (chef at Swedish Embassy) and Andrea (friend of Jonas) dropped by. Soon Chie came as well.

Together we had a fun time. Eating. Drinking. Talking. Laughing. And we killed Tanaka-san at least a hundred time.

Tanaka-san is a guy working at Yasaka. He is from the Osaka area and can, thus, be killed by a “hand” gun or an air sword.

Long Time…

It has been a long time since I updated the blog now. That last couple of weeks have been crazy busy. Running between meetings, joggling 3-4 different things at the same time, and no time to think just do.

But now, finally, there is one of these nice Japanese National Holidays again 🙂 On Monday there is something called Substitute Holiday. I have no idea what it is a substitute for. Maybe as a substitute for a work day. I’ll have more of them… Please 🙂

Busy Week

Thank God it’s Friday!

This week I had guests from Sweden so my workdays have been filled with meetings, besides the usual meetings and work that needs to be done. So many days I have worked hard for more than 11 hours.

But now the work week is over. Phew!

Chie and I celebrated by watching the Raiders @ Steelers game. New QB Gradkowski sparked the Raiders to a sensational win. Again a strong 4th quarter with the last 3 drives ending in TDs 😀

Visit by the Presidents

Today we had an All-hands meeting where the top managers of the company present ongoing initiatives, budget, directives etc. Usually this is carried out by the local top managers.

Sony Ericsson

Today, however, we had two prominent visitors. The old president Komiyama-san and the new president Bert Nordberg. While Komiyama-san reflected over the past (natural when you are resigning perhaps) Bert Nordberg was reflecting over the future with some messages about why and how we are moving forward. The best All-hands meeting I attended so far.

Welcome Party

Sony Ericsson had a Welcome and Farwell party tonight. Around 40 people went to a Chinese restaurant not far from the office. It was welcome for 8 new people, including me, and farewell for 3 people. Some going back to India and some continue to work at other places.

I ahd a good time and got to know a few people a whole lot better. Mainly I talked with the people at the table, Hirota-san from Nigata, Sateai-san from Hokaido, and Nakane-san who is married to a Chinese woman.

Around 10 pm me and Martin, a Swedish guy from Sony Ericsson Lund, went back to Meguro together. He lives about 500 meters from me and Chie.
