Poipu Beach [updated]

It was a hot day at the Poipu beach. We spent most of it reading, swimming and making acquaintance with a new friend… A bit chicken though as he did not dare eating from Chie’s hand 🙂

Next to us was a couple where the male looked familiar, though a bit older than my memory and it was difficult to place him… Where had I seen him?

I am pretty sure I’d seen h in some TV series. Hospitals keep popping up so it might have been a TV series about hospitals. Or lawyers. I’ll have to search the net.

At 4:45 pm we went to Poipu shopping village. Walked around looking in stores without buying anything, but a Girl’s book about surfing.

After that we went grocery shopping. Tonight is herb chicken night. And I’ll have homemade Black Orange – any Swede out there that remember that drink?

[update] OK, I looked the guy up and I am 85% sure (scientifically calculated ;-)) that it was Adam Arkin from Chicago Hope.

Come Rain or Come Shine

The last few days have been rainy in the morning. Today was no difference. Once it stopped we went to Poipu beach.

At the Poipu beach it was hot. We read. Took a swim. And then it started pouring down again 🙂

Back to the car. Back home. It had stopped raining. But the sky was still dark grey over Poipu beach just a few hundred meters away.

We spent most of the rest of the afternoon in the garden. Reading and, well, sleeping.

Late afternoon we wanted to cool off. So we again went to Poipu beach. No rain this time. We swam a few hundred meters in the ocean. Enjoying the waves. Read in the sun. Slept a bit. When it was time to leave it started to rain again… Or maybe it was the other way around 😉

When it Rains it Really Pours

Rain again in the morning. It stopped after a while so we went to Kiahuna. Then it started again. So we went to fill up gas in the car.

At the gas station it had stopped raining again. Until I was almost done. Then it was like someone dropped 10 buckets of water over me. Within half a minute I was drenched. Lucky I was in my swim suite 😉

While it was pouring down we went shopping groceries. Went back home to drop the groceries off. And went to Poipu beach… Where it is always sunny 😎

When we arrived at the beach a Hawaiian Monk Seal just slipped into the water and swam away. Though the seal did not want to spend any more time on the beach we spent the rest of the day there. Going back home just before 6 pm.

Poipu Beach

It was raining heavily with thunderstorms the whole night. We sleep with the windows open so I woke up shortly a few times.

In the morning it was still a grey sky, rain hanging in the air. We decided to go to Lihue for some shopping. Chie found some purses and I finally find the Sanuk shoes sandals I have been looking for.

We also had time to stop at Wal-Mart to buy some chocolate for our offices. And some coffee for our friends.

Once our shopping was done we returned to beach life. This time at the Poipu Beach. We had lunch at the Marriot pool side before spending the rest of the day either in the sand or in the ocean.

We stayed at the beach until 5:30 pm exhausted. It is hard work reading books in the hot sand 😉 And we also did a lot of swimming.

At home we prepared dinner. Tonight it was mustard cream sauce chicken, and salad. Yummy!

Poipu Beach

I lied! Or rather, I did not know that we would sleep in for such a long time so that we could not make it to Moloa Bay. So today we went to Poipu Beach instead. Moloa Bay will be waiting for us tomorrow.

It was a lovely day with sea turtles eating grass from the rocks just 10 meters from where we were staying. They are basically there every day so no photos 🙂 We enjoyed the turtles, the sand, the sun, and the cooling water before returning home around 5 pm.

At home we made beef steak with salad. Afterwards we relaxed. I went to bed around 10 pm while Chie stayed up until 2 am, watching the Royal wedding in London.
