Inception

I have to watch this movie again! Inception. 1 part Matrix, 1 part Memento, and probably many parts of movies I cannot think about now. Well made and entertaining, but difficult to get your head around it. Was it good or was bad? I go for good now.

After the movie we (Club Leo) went to Pescaderia for a superb dinner. As usual at Pescaderia and their sister restaurants Red Pepper and Walnuts. Yummy!

Alice & Khyber

Another day with Club Leo. We met at Seibu to watch Alice in Wonderland. A quite nice movie with Johnny Depp and directed by Tim Burton.

After the movie we took a long walk to Show-dori. Then continued the long walk along Showa-dori to Khyber. An Indian restaurant, where we had… Guess what? Indian food. And talked. And laughed. The food was nice and the company good.

Up in the Air

Met Non and Ryo in Ginza to watch Up in the Air movie with George Clooney. It was a kind nice, slow paced movie that did not leave too much of a memory an hour after we left the theatre.

As always with Club Leo we have dinner after the movie. This time Ryo had made reservations at Aux Amis des Vins. We had a fun time talking about everything and nothing in particular. The food was so so, and quite expensive.

Avatar IMAX 3D

The latest hype in movie industry has been the Avatar movie. Especially the 3D version of it. When Chie and I saw the trailer for the first time a few months ago we both said “No, that is not a good movie”.

I stand by it after watching the movie… At least in the most important aspects. The story and the acting.

The imaginary world that has been created by means of digital animation and come alive by means of 3D is amazing. It was really wonderful to be able to see all the animals, trees, mosquitoes and what of the jungles of Pandora, in 3D. It gave a whole different sensation to the experience.

For a while you almost forgot that the story was non-existing, and the acting was so-so. But I am really looking forward to the next 3D movie… Alice in Wonderland. Just imagine the combination of Disney, Tim Burton (director), Johnny Depp (the Mad Hatter), Helena Bonham Carter (the Red Queen) etc.

A bunch of not so normal people usually doing quite strange movies mixed with a traditional saga and Disney, the ultimate be-safe-family movie company of the Universe. And all in 3D. As I said, I am looking forward to it already.

This Is It

Met Chie in Roppongi Hills after work. For a quick dinner and then This Is It. The MJ movie. It was a really good movie, showing MJ in action setting up and rehearsing for his This Is It show(s).
